Announcement - DNS Flag Day 2019

Dear Valued Customers,

Date: Start from 1st Feb 2019

Announcement detail:

DNS software and service providers listed on following link have agreed to coordinate removing accommodations for non-compliant DNS implementations from their software or services.

As a result, domains hosted on servers which do not fully support EDNS0 may be unreachable or suffer from degraded performance.

Background of EDNS0

Extension mechanisms for DNS (EDNS) is a specification for expanding the size of several parameters of the Domain Name System (DNS) protocol which had size restrictions that the Internet engineering community deemed too limited for increasing functionality of the protocol.

The first set of extensions was published in 1999 by the Internet Engineering Task Force as RFC2671, also known as EDNS0.

What action do I need to take as a customer?

You are advised access to portal https://dnsflagday.net and using the diagnostic tools to enter your managed domain to verify DNS resolver compliant status.

If the tested domain fails the above test, please contact your current DNS operators.
